Bought his book, I buy and read a lot of books. His book stopped me dead at page 30. "But it seems Aboriginal people were baking bread from flour... 30,000 years ago, 13,000 years before the Egyptians."
Come on, grinding seeds to get a basic flour is a Very long way from "Baking bread".
Next he will assert the local artisans had added salt to make it palatable - that was the Roman additive somewhere 500BC.
I struggled on through a few more dodgy claims until I just gave up. When bullshit tries to pass as academic research it very seriously impedes academic research and the advancement of knowledge. And worse, when academia fails to challenge such crap.
Stand up; challenge it, or the whole field of academic research in that field will silently be ignored.
