I don't think so. I know with miners its sometimes all about perception but still if gold was AUD$2000
would you rather own a company that has AISC of AUD$1000/oz
or would you rather own a company that has AISC of AUD$1400/oz?
the one with AISC of AUD$1000 will be making more profit, which means they can use that extra money for what?
1.) MORE EXPLORATION to extend mine life or AQUISITION of other mines
2.)A DIVIDEND
3.)SHARE BUY BACK
4.)PAY DOWN MORE DEBT (if they have debt)
that's why AMI is soaring and people think it could be the next nst because its AISC are AUD$450/oz
