Many thanks for that info! I've tracked them down on IPAustralia's website.
The applications are "provisional" patent applications, which means they need to be followed up with "complete" applications within a year of their filing dates, and should then be published (become "open to public inspection") in about September 2014. They might not be examined by the Patent Office for some years (and there are no enforceable rights until after examination) so there's really not much information to be derived from these applications at this stage.
