In future before you buy, make sure you do a lot of your own research.
Read through a whole lot of company reports, which you can do for free.
I don't know what site you use to get your info from, but if it doesn't have news updates on, try using the likes of "stocknessmonster.com" You can sign up for free and get basic info on Australian and NZ stocks.There's news reports from years back.
Go into the company web sites and you'll find out more info.
You can use HC to put 'sensible' questions forward which sometimes people can answer for you.
Talk to management.
You should never as far as I'm concerned rely on one person's opinion which you don't really know. People have all sorts of varying reasons why they buy stocks and some of those reasons may not suit you.
If you haven't got a lot of spare cash to play with, I would say don't go for the more speculative stocks where things can go wrong and you get a roller coaster ride.
You and only you are responsible for your decisions, so take time in making sure you do what is best for you...and you have to be able to sleep at night.
Good luck with your future sharemarket dealings...some people find it's not for them.
