was the market really all that different in may 2011? most of the stuff that's happened since to bring the market down did not come as a suprise to anyone that's been following the world economy. we knew the US debt ceiling issue was going to come up eventually... we knew the european economy was on shaky ground that was ready to rattle any day.. the only difference is the stuff has come and gone and the market has still held strongly for the time being... albeit with a bit of a dip, but not quite a crash..
