APPROVAL OF PATENT APPLICATIONS
Telezygology Inc. ("TZI") is pleased to advise that it has recently been awarded two
new patents in the United States.
The first patent relates to the �Product with Multiple Functions� invention. This invention
is a technology centric patent which describes the integration of various functions into a
product enabling the delivery of energy, data or switching to a fastener, coupling or
other smart device. The first US patent for this invention (Patent #7,351,940) was
granted on April 1, 2008. Patent #7,800,030, which was officially granted on
September 21, 2010, effectively expands the protection of this invention. This patent
has also been granted in Australia.
�This patent supports the concept of integrating the necessary power, data and
switching means directly into the materials which we build our intelligent devices into.
This capability facilitates our vision of creating a new world of decentralized networked
intelligent devices. This patent, when interlocked with our other patents that cover
device and networking implementations, enables a rich multi-layer of IP protection. For
example, by the time we fully deploy our Packaged Asset Delivery solutions, I am
confident there will be at least 5 interlocking patents that fully protect the system and
other configuration variants,� said Dickory Rudduck, Chief Technology Officer of TZI
and the Company's Executive Director. �The ability to effectively deliver energy and
data integrated within the product itself will enable the proliferation of the technology at
a very granular level across a large span of infrastructure�.
The second patent (Patent # 7,806,427) was granted on October 5, 2010 and relates to
the �Fastener for Air Bags and other Uses� invention. This invention provides for a
fastening device releasably securing a first element, such as an air bag, to a second
element, such as a bracket located in a motor vehicle. This is the first patent granted
for this particular invention.
�Fasteners for Airbags and Other Uses� is an important patent as it claims the use of
integrated electronics and sensors to manage the control of blind fastening and
assembly processes. This builds off the core intellectual property platform relating to
smart materials actuation and remote manipulation as claimed in our original core
�Fixing and Release Systems� and subsequent �Improvements in Fixing and Release�
patents.
