From my understanding, the manufacturing patent will reach through 2025 but the use of ATC shall expire in Year 2013. After that, ATC becomes as the generic drug.

BTW, there is no such thing for any patent to be used for children only since adult and child are all humans and that matter (since different to rodents, etc.) The manufacturing methods are normally of not strong enough since ATC is not diffcult to make.

For sure, they need to protect their patents well but sometimes they do make mistakes. Otherwise, if BTA/GSK protect their patent well enough. Roche will not have the opportubity to get the drug Tamiflu.
