An amazing story, GG. There is no doubt that the Chinese have been sending overseas their young people for decades to get the best education and training in the world. When they go home they have good language and analysis skills and are able to trawl the journals for the last details. We have taught them well! They now control the Australian economy from outside and heavily influence the rest of the world. Where to in the next two decades?
If Pelamis Wave Energy could not get their WEC devices to work reliably over 17 years it is a little surprising that they would want to copy it. Perhaps it was that, “Those whities are a bit stupid; if we can just look at their attempts to fix the articulation (hinging) system over the last ten years we can improve on it.” That confidential info could be in the stolen computers. The segmented Pelamis looks very much like a moving Chinese dragon and would have great immediate appeal.
