CSA mine looks to be still open at depth and intersections drilled throughout the mine. See P17,18. This Cobar deposit was discovered in 1871 and production started around 1900. Further high grades were discovered in 1961 leading to todays resource which has been expanded in the last 10 years. Those high grades making it still economical to mine even at those depths.

Mponeng the Worlds deepest operating mine has depth ranging from between 3.16km to 3.84km below the surface by the end of 2018.
