This is an informal initiative aimed at driving the uptakeof Electric Vehicles (EVs) in Australia.
The collaboration is convened by ClimateWorks Australia, and draws on input from a range of expert member organisations including Transgrid, NRMA, AGL, the Australasian Convenience and Petroleum Marketers Association, Jet Charge and others, and is working closely with the Electric Vehicle Council.

“Charging up the Highway”
It covers the fact that the Electric super highway will be one step closer when Ergon Energy rolls out a network of electric vehicle fast charging stations along coastal routes in regional Queensland.
It states up to 60 fast charging stations will be established at locations to support Ergon Fleet.
The network will also be available for public charging at locations along major transport routes from Toowoomba to Cairns to support the uptake of EV’s.
Part of story also mentioned Tritium a company first nutured in Queensland Uni solar car racing team
It has partnered with Economic Development Queensland to install a new charging station at Oonoonba petrol station inTownsville, which will be the Australia’s first solar powered EV charging station.
So things are starting to move in the infrastructure side of things, and should fit in well with SYR commencing production in 2017.
