I think it's a lot more complex than that. Fresh investors get excited and unintentionally pump which causes spiteful finance bros to punish them. Some down rampers are just people that have been burned from pumps in the past and seek to warn others but are shot down as trolls only to see the ones they warned get burned themselves.
