Not really. Instead of buying and increasing the share price, people are selling and decreasing it. Whether they own the shares they are selling is another matter but they can do it if they borrow them first. I don't think it's one party doing it this time, looks like cfd traders etc seeing a trend and trying to profit from it.
As we are getting hurt while they sell, they will get hurt once the buying kicks in hopefully.
