The shorters pulled their dummy orders just before the open. That's their way of saying...."wasting our time ...we were only kidding ...better pickings elsewhere on stocks with not so strong fundamentals"
On the takeover...I have seen hostile takeovers take six months or so to finalize..eg. Patrick / Toll.
Friendly take overs can take a couple of months sometimes.
Holders of the target stock are often not aware of the action or wait to see the % gained by the instigator or forget to action the letter and later many are re-contacted to speed the event along ect...etc... Eventually the matter is settled but sometimes a little patience is required.
You can be sure that Atlas will be pushing things along steadily
