In response to your post, I have received an up-date based on the new CEO Colin Sutton 100 Day Review,
he states "Surgeons at the Alfred Hospital have implanted five patients with Ventri Assist and four of these recients, all who had been gravely ill with end stage heart failiure, have done remarkably well. Sadely, a third patient( I presumed third in-line to get the mechanism) succumbed to an unrelated pre-existing condition but this was not a reflection on the performance of the VentriAssist system. Dated 19th Feb 2004. Is your information from another source ?
