I think religions texts ; some but not all; are “Understandings “of older civilizations, on earth. If you are referring to the understanding of some issues changing then there is a mixed bag. Then for these issues, there has been a mixed bag of changes in my opinion ... i. Sexual relations. Yes ii. Alcoholism. I don't know, but I guess, yes. iii. Loving of your neighbours. More tolerance is called for than in the past, but a great deal of tolerance from Christ's description. iv. Floods on the earth. Significant changes for some, but not for others. v. Good thoughts ,good deeds and… I think that our perception of what is good and what is bad has changed for some issues. Sumerians.. I'm unaware of changes.
