Gas it definitly cheaper than uranium and more expensive than coal. Prob is coal produces about 6-10 times more co2 than gas equivalent on top of the heavy metal pollution and other nasty stuff. No where in the world has actually found a way of cheaply and reliably storing the waste and reprocessing just reduces the amount of waste at a huge cost. Gas is the best of both worlds abundant, clean and less carbon and it doesn't require massive mining sites such as strip mines or urainium mines.
