Let's be fair, there have been any number of JH/CP knockers and RC boosters plugging for Askin and co just as frequently and vehemently as CB et al. have against the current board, and at times, seemingly driven by personal animosities rather than any rational arguments.
Personally, I have found more rational argument and reasoning in the case against the current board than to support it. The allegations against JH are unsupported by any evidence save some selective quoting from various emails. Interestingly, Askin has never refuted the substance of JH's version.
As for RC, the "package" SH are being asked to support comes at a pretty high cost. Much is made of his time at QGC, but no mention made of his most recent involvement on Nexus and Austin. I don't believe that CTP should fund such an extravagant package given our financial state and find the options package offensive. Get some runs on the board first before seeking such generous renumeration RC. I do not support the current board and they are seeking shelter behind Cottee, so if it means to have Cottee we have to have Askin, I'm happy to have neither.
Based on the available evidence as opposed to Internet opinion, I have cast my vote against all of the board's recommendations. I intend to support the Palmer ticket on 19 July as on balance, I believe that JH backed by Palmer has the ability to get the runs on the board at far lower cost to SH.
The cards will fall where they may come Friday. I'm just sorry I couldn't get to Perth to watch the show.
