Illegal immigrants (Overstayers) are a considerable burden to the community because of the cost involved in identifying their location and subsequent removal from Australia, as well as their to labour market which are intended for Australian citizens and lawful residents only.

Illegal immigrants may also be a health risk because they have not been through the stringent health checks that are mandatory for long-term visa applicants.

Illegal immigrants are a security and character risk because they have deliberately decieved the Govt. and people of Australia and their true intent and objectives within this country are unknown.
