Yep he got it wrong tonight, just as he got it wrong when he was the treasurer & prime minister.
The thing he had going for him was blind faith in his own ability, his misplaced arrogant supreme self confidence and a very forceful way of putting his case. Many times not with logic, but wih a real venom, divisivness, & hatred for those who dared question him or had a diffent view.
This did carry him through his time as treasurer, & allowed him to initially overwhelm the Liberal oppposition when he took over as pm from Hawke.
And just like Whitlam, he still thinks he is "the greatest"
