Yes, the old Paul Keating thinks if you are not living in Sydney, you are camping out? bit of a parochial Sydneysider. having said that Daniel Andrews is now proving major support for Sydney’s Ampol company with its electric car tax.

AMPOL went up 4.54% 2day or $400 million AUD thanks to Daniel Andrews and the Port Phillip Bay Government of the NSW ALP.

Keating has set Australia’s big Four Banks to be the most profitable of anywhere in the world even tho ANZ and NAB are for now Melbourne based. Keating was more a Woolworths and Coles/ Wesfarmers dream. Keating supported AGL and Origin/ Boral and LendLease even though AGL had his opponent Carolyn Hewson on the AGL Board.

Keating was great for the insurance companies, Suncorp and IAG, great for oil and gas companies, great for the Lowy family and Qantas, great for Telstra.

Perhaps corporate Sydney needs Keating back. Morrison has not all that good.

Paul Fletcher, another Paul, appears to be a more Keating based type politician, even though he is from the other party, a moderate Liberal whereas Keating was a very right wing Labor Party except for Keating’s Capital Gains Tax and Mabo stuff.

Keating wanted immigration to end but did not achieve it. His namesake Fletcher, Sydney based, may do a bit better.
