Mussolini was a member of the Italian Socialist Movement, BUT was expelled in 1914 for advocating Italian intervention in WW1.
Later (1919) he founded the Fascist Movement, whose programme combined violent nationalism, with demagogic republican and anti-capitalistic slogans, and launched a campaign of terrorism against the socialists, and any one who opposed Fascism!
