An interesting case. I'm not a Hanson supporter (she is too far to the right of little ol' Gengis Khan moi. :-))) ) however, I find the sentence somewhat on the stiff side based on my understandings. Sure things weren't apples with the One Nation structure but folks did subscribe money for her views and she (the party) was given tax payers money based on election results in Qld.

Probably guilty of stupidity, ignorance and dopeyness as well as some technical breaches of the law - because of stupidity, ignorance and dopeyness - so unless there were some factorors I am not aware of or the judge wanted to send a message then twelve months weekend detention would probably be the right level of punishment.

As a side comment the chippy in my local town when I was a kid was called.............Hanson's, but nought to do with Pauline.
