    If “for the greater good” is the evidence you have to draw parallels between enshrined rights for minorities and Jim Crow, you’re beyond salvaging mate. You could just as well included the word ‘for’ alone as it would make as good a case. Read my argument again and perhaps take a while to contemplate what I mean instead of ad hoc responses.

    The group identity you speak of is the racist past I am speaking against. They were group identity laws favouring the majority, just as what you are advocating for. We need laws customised to meet specific needs identified in societies because there exists differences that cannot be catered for by the uniform laws you advocate for. This is precisely the reason, and I repeat, that has resulted in laws for children, disabled and protections for minorities. That you are now unhappy when such measures are taken with regards to the indigenous peoples is perhaps due to your biases. We call that racism. You can do better.
