the huge problem with that shows up when reading any history book
it's hundreds of pages of blood, gore, cruelty ------ inflicted by exactly the people who you would prefer running the country
the greatest failure in the human species is leadership.
my guess is that if we had sortition and not election. We had zero political parties, zero political gifts, zero personal contact from business lobbyists etc ------------ the chosen people, tested and filtered to take out the ones who fail basic comprehension etc
that we'd probably get a far better result than we have had in the past and most certainly than we have now.
atm - we have people who are not, as you say - working class - but, they are often failed lawyers, narcissists and other strange bods with mental disorders --------- these people float to the top - unfortunately not like cream though - more like floaties in a porcelain bowl
