Don't mind me, KD. Think of it like this:
We're crammed into a tinny/small runabout and the swell has picked up and is now tossing us around. We're specks in a vast ocean. We're all wearing our life jackets, but we all know they won't save us if a king wave comes along. Some of us are quietly making bargains with God for the developing tempest to pass, while others are yelling at the wind and/or the sea... the vast, enormous sea, like they can somehow control it.
Me? I'm the guy huddled at the back who's laughing uncontrollably (manically) at the futility of it all.
It's a coping mechanism.
This too shall pass.
