We will need to be with in 100-200m of surface for open cut assuming grades and intercepts are uniform/ reliable.
My older sister who’s an engineer/met at a major told me that ideally you want 1.7% Cu as a head grade. So in most cases it might be a mix of open cut/underground and then mixing of sulphides to achieve this. Based on medium/high grade zonation and costs in Australia.
