SSKIM, same thing here. My wife got her PAYG instalment notice for FY13 from ATO a few weeks back after we did the FY12 in Feb. She is a share investor not trader. She intends to pay the annual amount before 21/10/13 even she hasn't earned much from shares for this FY13. We normally lodge out return in Feb the following year. The money can be refunded back for sure. In the past, I got my PAYG a couple times as a trader. And the installments were quarterly which meaned the last payments were after our tax lodgement but I think my accountant sorted out in the process.
