    I'm not sure she's representing her electorate in this vote. Do we know her electorate's view on the semantic issue of whether Australia should support a 2 state solution without yet recognising the non existent Palestinian state, or whether the public believes we should recognise the non existent state in the belief that will create the pressure for it to come into existence? The Palestinians have had two opportunities to have a state. In 1948 Egypt and Jordan annexed the territories on which it would have been built. In 2000 negotiations were virtually complete when their leadership decided to abandon the process. It sometimes seems that the non Arab world has more enthusiasm for a Palestinian state than the Arabs or Palestinians themselves.
