Just a question for the folk who are familiar with auctions of retail real estate.

Usually a deposit is required from the winning bidder at the conclusion of the auction. Does payment have to be a cheque drawn by the bidder or a bank cheque? Banks are usually closed on Saturdays when most banks are closed so how is a bank cheque to be obtained.

Also assuming I don't have a cheque book from my bank, how else can payment be made? Direct deposit by Internet banking? A bit more risky than a cheque though.
