PayPal have had a BNPL product that has been running for years called PayPal Credit. It's been a massive failure considering that people are only thinking that they are entering the BNPL marketplace just now. Maybe because it's not available in the U.S due to restrictions that prevented them having it here (and those restrictions may still be at play with the tweaking of the product they are doing). To be honest, I think PayPal think QuadPay is a threat as their new product is a 4 for 1 type thing like QuadPays and their previous product worked so great that no one even knew of its existence.
Anyhoo people generally think of PayPal as that place that you have to give your email too. Where as with zip and others they are known straight off the bat as BNPL services. As Larry mentioned, PayPal isn't strong when it comes to over the counter sales.
