Alterity has not told that they have no interest in PBT2, but just the opposite: Kempler told on the 21st of Dec, 2020 " Because we can combine PBT2 with existing antibiotics, many of which are generic, this approach has strong commercial value to Alterity".
Kempler also told: "Alterity intends to direct new resources to the project with no impact on its lead commercialisation
program for ATH434".

The sale of PBT2 to the market would give a price to PBT2, but nobody would know if that price is right, without some kind of calculations and estimates. There is nothing like PBT2 in the present market. Fundamentally new situation. Almost like when penicillin was invented and suddenly bacteria diseases could be treated by killing them with penicillin.

Kempler also told that they "intend to direct new resources.....". The only place to get these resources, IMO, would be the Fund, not only money but also other help. Queensland would have many microbiologists, but not the needed money. The Fund has the biggest accumulation of experts dealing with these antibiotic-resistant bacteria and possible markets for a new drug. Alterity has no experts in this field, they need help. I think there will be a deal between ATH and the Fund. But it is also self-clear that the Fund does not buy PBT2, it has not enough money. There also will be, IMO, a deal or most likely many deals with big pharma companies.

IMO, in spite of it has taken time, it has been a good thing to estimate the value of PBT2. Most likely ATH with its negotiators has got gradually enough info to close a deal of PBT2. When it happens, everything will change.
