I'm glad you put "much less of a gamble", because what you are essentially saying there is that you are gambling as well. Anyone who invests or trades is gambling in a sense, and therefor we take positions that minimize our losses should they go pear shaped. Have you got a fall back or escape plan should the company for any reason or other go under Rod?
Seen it happen plenty of times, these kinds of spec stocks are notorious for it.
