I believe one of the main reasons for the tremors in alcohol withdrawal is the excitation of **A receptors in the brain. So that’s **ba Amino- Byturic Acid . When we give Midazolam to a patient having a seizure it inhibits the neuro transmitter **A Thus hopefully negating the seizure. Delrium tremors patients are sometimes prescribed Valium to reduce the **A in the chronic setting.
