    RAM is as cheap as chips these days $50/60 for 128meg so load up - 512 should be more than adequate. Pentium 1.8gig should be the go (higher versions are a little pricey but go for them if you can get a deal) - have it on a Gigabyte motherboard and round out with 40 gig+ hard disc DVD, CDRW, USB and firewire.

    If you live in Sydney NCI give good deals otherwise it is probably a Packard Bell or Dell.
