Apparently PCCW who operate PoPs in 740 cities in over 70 countries outnumbering Megaport's PoPs by orders of magnitude have acquired the software platform from Megaport's bankrupt competitor Console and are launching services, so are now directly competing with Megaport: https://www.telecomasia.net/content/pccw-global-launches-console-connect
Console had a pretty sophisticated platform including instant provisioning through a fancy portal and had a cloud-to-cloud connectivity product corresponding to the Megaport Cloud Router way earlier than Megaport.
I guess from now on Megaport will be facing harsh competition which comes from a huge carrier with a massive network, a serious sales organization and tens of thousands of customers resulting in strong economies of scale.
