There is no evidence of this but If it is PRU or an affiliate playing games with the share price, trying to cap it etc for a low ball offer, I am a strong believer in karma and I reckon it’s possible a larger player like Barrick, Newmont etc would swoop in and take it from the grasp of PRU. Or at minimum make it a lot more expensive for them. These tactics may come completely unstuck for PRU, and they may regret not just going in for an early full blown takeover 60c + to make certain of it. In the current record gold pricing conditions and amazing sentiment with M&A happening everywhere in the gold space we can be sure PRU are not the only ones watching this. Clever investors will be buying at these levels because it’s just a matter of how big the profit from here imo. Personally, I am certain this will end in a bidding war Imo. Especially in the current market and with gold set to get more bullish. Not many near term producing assets at this size left in the world right now.
