if you want certainty stick ro ETFs, physical gold or, bank interest. Even quality growth stocks that do have an element of certainty can be held down by market manipulation etc etc.
The big rewards generally carry an element of risk. The amount of gold exploration PDI has done has significantly de-risked it at the current MC/SP. You probably know all this.
