I'm now able to get into the ALL website to confirm number of shares to be 456,137,606.
The number of options are significant at 13.5m but probably have well out of the money exercise prices.
So assuming a profit of 80m the PE is smack on 10 at the moment.
What PE can trade? Well considering the company is still making good profits and still paying a nice dividend I can only assume that unless we see more bad news that ALL should be trading on a PE of 15 (20 if the market didn't get so dissapointed).
This would assume growth in the US and steady earnings from the Aussie business. The SA business is small anyway but could also surprise with growth as could other areas of the world.
Can it drop further? Well I don't think so unless we get bad news.
For example looking at a 50-50 bet i.e. either the stock rises 50% or falls 50% I think it's highly unlikely we see a PE of 5 or even 8 (unless we get bad news).
So at the moment from a "betting" perspective you would have to think the odds are in your favour.
Just a guess though.
