Peak intends to construct a rare earth refinery in the Tees Valley and holds an option with Homes England over a 19-hectare parcel of land located within 3km of the Teesport and within the designated Freeport area. This option is exercisable at a cost of £1.8 million (A$3.2 million) and would provide for a 250-year lease. Peak is actively engaging with Homes England around the potential exercise of this option, which currently expires on 18 June 2021 and is subject to funding and other conditions.

There is a possibility that the sale was in relation to that engangement with Homes England to excercise the option, therefore not crashing the company's kitty.

This is the jucy unknown bit compared to prior updates and the large sale could well finance
the lease.


There are things ongoing we are not aware of but ever since President Samia has hinted during the mining conference that a rare earth mine will be the forth holding company for Tanzania, things have been progressing.
We saw board additions, road work at Teeside, large swaps of shares and plenty of option conversions.

Linked with the positive changes of government in Tanzania and a very proactive president when it comes to intervene with mining projects ( see the recent intervention for the LPG project ) one has to be curious about the ongoings and the outlook for Peak.
