Below are some links to our amazing new Director Pearl Grimes' groundbreaking studies published in 2013 and 2015 (published along with her colleagues Iltefat Hamzavi, MD; Mark Lebwohl, and MD, Henry Lim and Oma Agbai, et al) for those who might not have seen them. Now that she is on the board of directors at Clinuvel it is interesting to revisit this work as I believe it strongly influences and inspires Clinuvels current vitiligo program. She very briefly mentioned this work while speaking at the AGM. Primarily effective for skin types IV through VI, afamelanotide showed statistically significant greater repigmentation, as well as much faster repigmentation compared with those in the control group. What I find particularly striking is the effectiveness of the treatment even on the hands of one of the patients and the persistence of the results. I believe her expertise will be invaluable at progressing the Clinuvel vitiligo program towards approval. I am grateful for her involvement in Clinuvel moving forward. To me she is a real rock star.
