I might be wrong, but by my estimate this doubles the potential market size! Actually I don’t think this is new, I thought pearls had been fashionable for trendy men for a while. An article on an Indonesian website, kompas, translated as Indonesian pearls are increasingly unaffordable, has some interesting data on Indonesian Pearl export volumes, which are down sharply this year - confirming our belief that the market for South Sea pearls is heavily supply constrained. No wonder prices are booming for such a scarce, much sought-after item.
I might be wrong, but by my estimate this doubles the potential...
