I checked today's closing prices for all of the companies scheduled to present at theAMEC Convention. AAM is in the top half but still managed to perform below today's market average. AAM invested around $10,000 of our money to present at AMEC.
Was it money well spent?
Did investors rush out to buy AAM in the next market?
On the face of it, perhaps not, but the conference did present an opportunity to showcase company achievement. They may not have rushed out to buy today, but at least the company has been seen by another cohort of potential investors.
I wanted to see hard data on gold pours and plant throughput. This is the kind of information that will give our company credibility. I did not want to read vague statements like, "Gold Plant producing at 300ktpa rate." and "Cash and Gold: A$2million". If the plant is CONSISTENTLY operating at the 300ktpa rate, why not tell us exactly how many tonnes of ore went through the plant last week and how much gold came out?.
The pictures were nice, even though most of them have been published before. Some of them were even annotated. I particularly like the melt cascading through the molds during the first gold pour. There is a lower resolution version of the same image on the AAM website
Here is the list of presenting companies as published by AMEC. I have arranged them in order of % Change in share price for Friday 4/6/10. I have added a very brief description of the work being done by the top achievers.
