    you've given me a good idea on using up some massive overgrown spring onions the size of leeks.

    do you also grow spring onions
    as we have them every where here

    that, ours started from a bunch shop bought many years ago

    NOW there is a great money saving idea for all
    buy a bunch of spring onions from the shop
    and use them
    yes cut them up
    all except about 12 ml, half an inch from the roots

    this is then placed in any dirt/soil you can find
    or even a plastic bottle with the top cut off filled with soil

    and it will grow
    then when you want a spring onion just chop its head off
    leaving the roots in the ground and a half an inch out of the soil/dirt

    result you have an endless supply of spring onions
    and never ever buy S / O's again

    and or if you allow this to grow
    then it can end up
    as a S/Onion about 25ml 1 inch around
