not so long ago bolt ran a story about some guy that was found guilty by the jury - based on allegations made by the ex wife .. so the jury believed the ex wife. it cost the guy (and his parents - from memory) a fortune to prove his innocence - but in the meantime he spent 6 months in jail.
there are plenty of cases in west Australia, where a jury has found a person guilty -and people have spent years and years in jail for crimes that they did not commit.
one can not forget the so called 30 second rapist - a guy was found guilty - got a good sentence - when all the time it was a set up.. the woman who the alleged crime was committed against - blabbed to someone who went to the police
two other people who readily come to mind were beamish and button - they were found gulity by a jury - convicted of murder and spent years and years in jail
if pell is guilty, then he should pay for the crime - but just because a jury finds him guilty, that does not guarantee that they got it right.
