I have to admit to my suspicions with court cases which are over 10 years old relying on peoples memory

Why wasn't it brought before the courts at an earlier time ?

If it was due to the "cover up" which these definitely were, then the leadership and in this case the Catholic Church is the criminal and not the individual, so all these cases should have been against the church and that would not totally rely on peoples memories as there are written records etc

But of course we know that it would be a brave governemnt which took the Catholic Church all the way through the courts and uncovered the dirty secrets
