Being found not guilty beyond a reasonable doubt does not mean you are innocent.
It means you might be innocent because there is no proof of your guilt.
In this case IMO he probably is innocent, but he has plenty of other skeletons in his cupboard.
I have no doubts that he was a part of the child abuse that took place around him in the church.
