The jury - led Verdict against Cardinal Pell in February 2019 was met with disbelief by all manner of people across this country.

That February 2019 Verdict was considered by many learned persons one which could never be described as ' beyond reasonable doubt '. It was a ruling considered far from fair in terms of what was known, namely that it was based on the testimony of one person only 20 years after the alleged fact with no corroborating witness or evidence and no forensic evidence at all.

The Victorian Court of Appeal has this week upheld that very same ruling.

Many will receive this Court of Appeal ( Victoria ) Judgment with the same disbelief as accompanied the jury - led Verdict of February 2019.

Many will note that there was a very significant voice of Dissent in this week's 3 Judge Court of Appeal the Court split 2: 1 , the Dissenting Judge considered by many the ablest and most intellectually rigorous of his peers.

It is to be noted too that the Court of Appeal in Victoria is the most unreliable - as in the most challenged and most overturned - Court of Appeal in this Commonwealth of Australia.
