Didn't you hear Pell deflect the blame in response to an apparent incredulous response by the questioner that he knew nothing, blaming others in lesser positions in the RC hierarchy that he had been kept in the dark and that certain incriminating knowledge had not been passed up to him.

Hence, your response is a bit simplistic. When it was becoming more widely known, Pell reluctantly and after many years, responded but he was certainly not fast to do so. Well, that is what I heard as a result of listening to Pell's testimony at the R.C.

So, even viewers of the same material will be left with disparate conclusions, as you and I hold.
