Am so disappointed the High Court of Australia overturned a unanimous jury decision in a lower court.
might as well throw away now the jury system when deaing with the rich and powerful.
we now know once and for all whose side the High Court, who hitherto commanded great respect, now sits.
the jury system comprised of trial before our peers just got smashed by hizzoners. Outrageous.
some may argue Pell deserves compensation for his undoubted shameful trials and tribulations, which ensured his name was dragged through the public social mud for years, totally besmirching the name also of his crooked and corrupt church.
i hope he gets none. He was ultimately found not guilty, not innocent
as the head of the church in Australia Pell established a conspiracy to pervert the course of justice as official church policy whereby known pedophiles masquerading as church officials who raped children in their care were protected by Pell's church from facing serious criminal charges.
many of these former church men now sit incarcerated only due to the extraordinary courage of the victims of rape who were hung out to dry at all stages by a corrupt church hierarchy with Pell atop.
so bad luck George, i shed a tear not for you and your sickeningly corrupt church and its policies but at the thousands and thousands of lives these policies helped destroy.
maybe some true criminals do get treated fairly by the justice system after all.
