agreed. Biden has the right idea in wanting to normalise and detoxify - look forward not back
but it cant work unless and until the GOP establishment stop messaging that Democratic rule is a threat to US way of life
whilever that persists - its a doomed effort - because every 8 years moderate/swinging voters in all countries tend to think - 'its time to give the other side a go'
then the cycle of toxicity will just revive
the problem is the Republicans seem to think they cant retain a high batting average if they go back more toward centre right
though personally i think Trump illustrated they could - a lot of the Trump votes were from black and hispanics who are focused on economics and jobs
so the Democratic demographic wave where minority voters overtake whites that the republicans have been deathly afraid of since the 90s - isnt nearly as monolithic a vote for Democrats as they seem to think
Personally I;d like to see Mitt Romney run for President. Im not a fan of all his ideas - but he's a deeper character than when he ran before
A black or Latino Mitt Romney as President - if there was such a thing - would be just the tonic for the GOP and the US
